Trish Yanney, one of our special contributors, posted this great idea from her family memories! How easy & how fun, all at the same time! Well, maybe Bill didn' t find it so easy, but he did find it wallet friendly!
Trish just bought some simple scalloped bricks used to trim her flower beds & let all the kids have fun putting their names on them. She then called on Bill, her knight & shining armor pictured below, to dig her a small hole in the backyard. So, that part might entail just a small amount of work:)
Then, out comes the smores & hot dogs. Now, that is a great new idea to bring fun right into your backyard! Thanks Trish and thanks for taking the time share your great idea with us!
Trish also introduced me to the great link "Family Fun" on our Motherhood page!

It's hot & it's here! Summer has arrived! I don't know about you, but it's already been 94 degrees here in Tulsa! The fresh Saturday morning markets are open & it won't be long until they are full of ripe tomatoes! Summer says fresh fruit, trips to the lake & lots of water splashing in the back yard! So, it's time to let the heat be our friend & enjoy all nature has to offer.
For my family, it doesn't take a big budget, simply to hop in the car and head for some new destination. In June we headed to the river & in August we were off to the orchard. Our most special memories have been made when Russ piles us all in the car to show us some beautiful site he found on a prayer walk. His favorite thing is a sunset & we have enjoyed many together.
With each new season, we will post simple ways to enjoy life with your family, just like one of our recent posts for: "Pine Cone & Peanut Butter Bird Feeders". This is a creative idea that the boys cousins taught us on our visit to Georgia. It's perfect for enjoying all the birds, so much fun for the kids & an inexpensive way to have an unforgetable moment!. Together, let's enjoy life!

Nothing says summer is just around the corner like a trip to the strawberry fields! As we were heading back to check out at the stand, Evan so sweetly says "Mama, I only ate 5". The patch owner just smiled, replying "That's what makes the picking fun!"
